JetBlue Will Renew Its TrueBlue Frequent Flyer Program!

JetBlue recently announced that it would raise its fees on checked baggage and ticket changes. Now, the airline has decided to make changes to its frequent flyer program. According to an email sent to program members, JetBlue’s frequent flyer program, TrueBlue, will be refreshed.

Although the airline is not making huge changes when it comes to its loyalty program, members will soon see a refreshed, updated website, which will make it even easier for them to redeem and track points. According to JetBlue, the website will offer a more modern and intuitive interface, and it will be easier to navigate on smartphones, tablets, and personal computers. Changes will be rolled out over the next few weeks.

While the website update isn’t a huge deal on its own, the company also made some slight modifications to the program.

• The biggest change is that the program will let members who aren’t necessarily family pool points, which allows for collective redemptions.
• The new option affords greater flexibility.
• Members of TrueBlue will be able to set up a pool of seven members regardless of whether members are family or not.
• Members won’t contribute a set amount of miles; they will instead contribute 100 percent of their points to the pool.
• Members of the Points Pooling group can redeem their points or exit the pool, with all their unused points, whenever they want.
• The Pool Leader, who must be 21 or older, will have the ability to give other members in the pool privileges to cash in points from the collective pool balance.

Furthermore, JetBlue will temporarily suspend its TrueBlue Badges. These badges are earned by reaching certain travel thresholds, among other things. With some of these badges, members were afforded the chance to win more TrueBlue points. Fortunately, the TrueBlue Badges program feature will be enhanced before making a return in a few months’ time. On that note, members who earned badges previously will retain them.
