The Emirates announced that Ramadan is going to start from today in Dubai, and Emirates is fully prepared for the important period. The airline has also announced it will be providing onboard iftar services for passengers breaking their fasts while in the air.
The iftar boxes are crafted in an authentic Arabesque design and provide a nutritious meal of couscous salad and grilled chicken or mudardara and roasted chicken, sandwiches, spinach fatayer or tomato and onion fatayer, assorted sweets, dates, Laban and water, and this menu will be updated mid-Ramadan.
The meals will be available to passengers across all cabin classes. The airline is also altering the programming on the in-flight entertainment system. To breaking fast on the ground, water and dates will be handed out in the airport.
The special meals will be available on select flights that coincide with iftar times. This includes flights to and from the Gulf region as well as flights catering to Umrah groups traveling to Jeddah and Medina during the month of Ramadan.
Emirates uses a special tool to calculate the correct time for breaking the fast. The airline is using the aircraft’s longitude, latitude, and altitude for the greatest level of accuracy in-flight. Passengers will be informed of the iftar time by the captain when the sun sets.
