The major problem that can piss off the passengers is when they have lost their baggage. No one can overlook the loss of missing a bag during their journey. This is because it is not possible to buy everything you need in your journey. Maybe you have lost the most important things.
Anyhow you can just do something for its compensation. Here are the basic details that every flier must know.
First of all, you keep in mind that a passenger has the legal right for the compensation of lost/ delayed baggage. But, it is applicable only if it happens due to the airline’s fault. Once it is confirmed that you have lost your baggage then don’t panic and take these quick actions.
Fill the report at the airport or you can find it on the official website of British Airways. Find the online baggage claim form and fill it properly.
To claim British Airways ensure that you have reported your problem and have your report PIR reference number (10 digits).
If you are at the airport fill out the claim form to the airline’s customer service department. Include the following things in your claim:
You will be provided with the refund or replacement of the above items but depending on the circumstances.
One can update the details of the missing baggage to the airline by a click.
You just have to fill the reference number and your name in the form and update the details. If you need to change the phone number of the address you can do it easily. Also, you can use this form to get the updated status of your baggage.
If your claim request is refused by the airline:
In case if nobody listens to you don’t get frustrated just use the form at CAA’s website to complaint about the airline.
As soon as the airline finds your bag they will return you the baggage free of cost. To get the bag after an international journey you have to complete the customs declaration. The airline will contact you on the address/contact number you have provided on the claim form so make sure you provide the right address and contact number on the form.
For a local journey, you can collect your baggage from the airport.
Had previously had a rubbish flight with BA, but this time back to the usual standard. Everything was comfy and friendly staff. Roomy seats and legroom. Especially liked the USB point under the seat. Great choice of M&S food on board.
We flew to Nice through London, and back from Paris through London. All in all, both were good experiences. All the flights left on time and arrived on time. There were hiccups at Heathrow (congestion and had to wait on a bus for a plane to pass) and Newark (no gates were available and there were mechanical problems with the walkway), but neither of these had anything to do with BA.
The staff was friendly and professional throughout those events and at all other times. The transatlantic segments were very good. The food was decent (I don’t expect much) and the onboard entertainment was good. The entire family was happy with all the flights and we would happily fly with BA again.
Having had a not particularly good experience with BA Business Class we decided to try First this time and found the whole experience first class in every respect. Staring with the Terminal 3 lounge which was so much quieter and comfortable than the Business Class lounge, the pods were spacious and comfortable, the service, food, and wines were all five star. My wife and I were invited to dine together in her pod with individual silver service. The in-flight nightwear was practical and comfortable and helped to reach looking smart.
