Chennai International Airport is serving its services to the number of the cities like Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, and its metropolitan area, India. It is the 4th busiest airport in India in terms of total passenger traffic after airports at Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. It is the 49th busiest airport in Asia.
It handles the 400 aircraft per day. It was the 1st airport in India to have international and domestic terminals located adjacent to each other. This airport is the regional headquarters of the Airports Authority of India for South Indian states.

The code of the Chennai International Airport is “MAA”. The domestic terminal is named as K. Kamaraj airport and the international terminal is named as C.N. Annadurai airport.
The airport is spread over the suburbs of Meenambakkam, Pallavaram, and Tirusulam that is about 14.5 km southwest of the city center.
It takes almost 20-30 minutes. The airport operates the number of airlines like Blue Dart Aviation, Jet Airways, SpiceJet, and IndiGo. It also operates the Air India and GoAir flights, which are much cheaper than the Mumbai or Delhi flights for travelers who are flying into India from the east.
The airport is separated into Anna International Terminal (AIT), Kamaraj Domestic Terminal (KDT), and a cargo terminal. And have the Chennai airport arrivals & departures. The Anna international and Kamaraj domestic terminals are connected to each other.
In total, Airport Terminal has 48 check-in counters. The boarding gates are available on 2 levels, 6 on the ground level and 3 on level 1.

The domestic terminal is also known as Kamaraj Terminal. This terminal connects the Airport with 20 different destinations in India. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected to each other through a building. The walking distance is just of 20 minutes.

The International terminal (T2) is also known as Anna Terminal that connects to the 20 destinations worldwide.

The first one is located at the Domestic Terminal, Airside, 3rd floor, opposite Gate 5. The opening time starts at 4:00 AM and closed at 9:00 PM Daily.
The second one is placed at the International Terminal, Airside, opposite Gates 11 to 14. It is open for 24 hours.
The third one is located at the New International Terminal, Airside, 3rd floor VIP lounge level, opposite Gate 7. It provides its services for the 24 hours.
The three of these lounges provide refreshments, newspapers, wireless Internet, TV, and flight information.
It is located at the Domestic Terminal, inside security. It opens from Monday to Sunday. The lounge provides the various facilities like snacks, internet, Newspaper, and magazines.
It is located at the Terminal 2, international terminal, inside security. Its opening time starts at 4:00 and closed at 10:00 PM. It serves the snacks, beer, wine, internet, and printers. Showers are also available.
It is located in the International Terminal, Airside, 2nd Floor.

You can get the train at the Tirusulam Railway Station. You just have to walk through the gate, down Great Southern Trunk Road, and go through the underpass running beneath National Highway 45. There you will find the train to get to the city. The takes about 25-30 minutes and you will reach the Egmore station.
There is also a public bus stop that is located right just outside the gates of Airport.

It was an excellent experience at the security gate. Impressive effort by the guards and the management to ensure that total time in line was under 10 mins. This is the best experience I have had at peak hour in any airport in India, hope the rest of the airports can follow suit.

Anna international airport is one of the best airports in India they provide the good service. This airport looks like very superb and in this their maintenance is very good. In this we have available the good food items Chinese, KFC and McDonalds all are in tasty to eat. And they provide high security for the people and good experience with the immegration process. I like this airport very much. This is a one of the best one I visited.
